CAREFUL WISHING
These litte romcoms seem to come in as fillers between the big movies. However, the prerequisite of this genre is an attractive female star, cute guy opposite her (or vice verse) fluffy script and witty lines.
Mark Steven Johsnon’s When In Rome fails on the most important points—script and dialogue. Like many romcoms, it starts with a fairly amusing idea—Beth (Kristen Bell), a busy museum curator with an iffy romantic life (the two seem to go together in such films) goes to Rome to attend her sister's wedding, gets drunk, dips into a ‘Fountain of Love’ and takes some coins thrown in by people to make their wish come true.
