DA-BANG SPLIT MY PERSONALITY!

You've seen this before in Bachchan/Mithun/Vikram/Mahesh Babu/action movies, you've heard the music refrain in spaghetti westerns, you've seen the fight scenes in movies like The Transporter...

Seee! It's Salman! Have you seen such style? Such attitude!

SANITY SAYS:

The plot is wafer thin. Story is not new.

SalmanfanINSANITY SAYS:

(Seetis!) Look he just put the RayBans behind his shirt collar! Look He's dancing! Doesn't he have the sexiest walk? Doesn't he have the sexiest upper thighs? Only Salman can do this! What if he looked at you like that? What if someone wooed you like that? (Melt! Melt! Melt now!)

SANITY SAYS:

Some dialog is fun, but look at the cable-aided parkour! Rooftop chase in Mission Istanbul was more believable!

SalmanfanINSANITY SAYS:

Stop complaining! Dekho, dekho baddie ka phone baja! Bhai is so cool when he dances like that!

SANITY SAYS:

This is a good debut for Sonakshi Sinha. She reminds us of the days of Vidya Sinha and Reena Roy. Voluptuous is back! But why are Dimple and Sonakshi both wearing crackling fresh Fab India sarees in small-town UP? And why is Mahesh Manjrekar talking as though he's in Maharashtra? The villagers all wear new clothes, not washed clean, but new clothes...

SalmanfanINSANITY SAYS:

Come, dance in the aisles! Look how hot Malaika Arora looks when she does the Munni badnaam hui! Later we can go buy striped half sleeved shirts just as Sallubhai wears! Sonakshi is so sexy, the boys will dream of her instead of rake thin heroines!

SANITY SAYS:

The illogic is giving me a headache. And why on earth would they suddenly be in Dubai? Why is Om Puri repeating his Baabarr role? Should Sonakshi not be his daughter, so Chhedi Singh (wonderfully portrayed by Sonu Sood) would have even more reason to hate Chulbul Pandey. Nicknames like Makkhi are fun!

SalmanfanINSANITY SAYS:

See! you like it already! Chulbul Pandey has the bestest dialog. No one else can say them with so much style. And they go for honeymoon in Dubai, why else? In your other cinema they go to Switzerland, why shouldn't Bhai be filmed in Dubai?

SANITY SAYS:

I don't like it. Why is it so choppy?

OOOOOH! BHAI IN A YELLOW SHIRT! CHOPPY KAUN DEKHTA HAI! WOW... Look at the fights! AWESOME

SANITY SAYS:

I think I am closing my eyes for a bit. Cannot deal with Salman's shirt doing a Hulk...

SalmanfanINSANITY SAYS:

Good idea! Lemme have fun! How much Salman's eyes say when he takes the glasses off! Wow he's better than Hulk! And I'm going to grow a mooch exactly like his! He is the superstar  here! See! He saved his family! I am going to call my kids Chulbul and Makkhi! I am going to change my name to Pandey...

SANITY SAYS:

Do you have a saridon or soemthing? I have a headache. Is it over yet?

Oh yaar! He's Salman Khan, yaar! He only can make pictures like this! Tomorrow morning we will bunk office and see it again, kya?

SANITY SAYS:

See WANTED again, Prabhu Deva's action was more fun, and there was a better story...

SalmanfanINSANITY SAYS:

See Wanted again? Of course! Let's have a Salman Khan fest. Ghar par Wanted dekhenge, and we can book more shows of Dabangg. Hud Dabangg Dabangg! Hud Dabangg Dabangg!

I love inner dialogue reviews! That is so often how films make me think - debating this and that, deciding what I like or value most.

I am sad to miss Dabangg in the theaters, but at least that gives me time to work up some sort of repilca experience for seeing it at home. Must hire some rowdies to throw things at the tv!
