You have your reasons and I have mine (although just to clarify, I don't particularly like Aamir Khan or his films and have loved Shah Rukh Khan for several years before he started taking his audience for granted––but that's purely a subjective choice; as a critic one tries to be as objective as possible).

Critics aren't supposed to write keeping the audience in mind, just as filmmakers shouldn't be making films with an eye on the box-office or the lowest common denominator. Audiences can choose both which films to watch and whose reviews to read. I don't underestimate the power of the common man at all. I think filmmakers do, which is a pity. And what's worse is the common man doesn't demand better...

I think you are being harsh, though I haven't seen the film but with critics rating this movie from 1 to 3 (3 and 1/2), why only Shetty and SRK, everyone feels that petty critics don't understand cinema.
In case of Talaash, you were clearly biased as it was an Aamir Khan film, a bad movie, but you still tried to write only the good side of it, the good side which only you could see (the delayed review and watching the movie twice before writing the review proved it).
One good thing about your reviews is that you don't rate it with stars, appreciate that but when you write reviews, do it keeping audience in mind, what they will like and not your intellectual level which is far above (n away) the common man, because you cannot underestimate the power of a common man.
